29.03.25 Today's gospel *Luke 18: 9-14* *Reflection* How can we know if our prayer is pleasing to God or not? The gospel is all about Jesus when he tells a parable to some people who were self-righteous and proud. Those who pray proudly to God, boasting of his religious deeds will be heard and recognized by God, but God cannot hear if we boast in ourselves and despise others. This parable presents both an opportunity and a warning. Pride leads to self-deception and spiritual blindness. True humility helps us to see ourselves as we really are in God’s eyes, and it inclines us to seek God’s help and mercy. God dwells with the humble of heart who recognize their own sinfulness and who acknowledge God’s mercy and saving grace. May God hear all of our inner thoughts and intentions, and may He forgive others as He has forgiven. Prayer. Dear God, l come before you, with a humble heart and a deep need for your grace. I accept my mistakes. At times, I am proud of what I do right, thinking I’m better than others. Lord, I lay down any pride or self-righteousness. Help me as I ask for your mercy. May I see my true self, as I truly am in your eyes—a person in need of your forgiveness and love. Help me to humble myself before you, and recognizing that everything good in me comes from you. Give me a heart that shows compassion and love to everyone, just as you do. Thank you, Father, for your unending love and patience with me. I surrender my pride and shortcomings to you, asking for your guidance and strength to walk humbly in your ways. *Amen* . ReplyForward
