07.04.25 Today's gospel John 7:53 - 8:1-11 Jesus was teaching in the temple, and was confronted by Pharisees and scribes with a woman caught in adultery. In response, Jesus emphasized mercy and forgiveness. They asked Jesus if she could be stoned according to the law of Moses. Jesus writes in the dust with his finger, and He says, "Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her." The Pharisees and scribes left starting with the oldest. Jesus was left alone with the woman. Jesus asked her, "Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?" The woman responded, "No one, sir." Jesus said, "neither do I condemn you; go, and from now on sin no more." Here we are shown how to live by being merciful and forgiving. We are all sinners in need of forgiveness. May we embracing Jesus' message of mercy and forgiveness. Let us pray. Forgiving Father, help us to show mercy and forgiveness to those around us. May we remember that we are sinners in need of forgiveness. Assist us in living a life that reflects Your love and mercy. Amen. ReplyForward
