24.03.25 Today's gospel Luke 4:24-30 In today's reading, Jesus is in Nazareth, His hometown, but His own rejects His ministry. Jesus states that no prophet is accepted in his own town. Jesus' message is not limited to His own people, but is for all humanity. In anger, the crowd attempts to kill Jesus, but He passes through the crowd unharmed. We must recognize that salvation is not limited to our own group. We are called to share the message of salvation with all people, as Jesus did. He moved on to other place and shared the message there. Let us pray. Heavenly Father, help us to recognize the universal nature of salvation, and to share the message of salvation with all people. Give us courage to face opposition and rejection, just as Jesus did. Amen. ReplyForward

22.03.25 Today's gospel *Luke 15: 1-3, 11-32* *Reflection* : In this parable, Jesus gives a vivid picture of God and what God is like. God is truly kinder than any of us. He does not lose hope nor give up when we stray from him. He is always on the lookout for those who have a change of heart thus want to return. He rejoices in finding the lost and in welcoming them home. Do I still know the joy of repentance and the restoration of the relationship as a son or daughter of the Heavenly Father? *Prayer* Gracious God, we come before you, humbled by the story of the prodigal son, a story that reflects our own journeys of wandering and return. We acknowledge our times of straying, of losing our way, and of falling short of your love. May we, like the prodigal son, find the courage to come home, to confess our sins, and to seek your embrace. Forgive us, Lord, for our mistakes, and help us to live in the joy of your forgiveness and the strength of your grace. May we, like the father, always be ready to welcome back those who have strayed, and to celebrate their return. We pray for a heart that is open to your love and a spirit that is always seeking you. *Amen* . St. Barnabas Anglican Parish, Bluff.
21/3/25 Today's gospel Mathew 21 v 33 to 46. In this parable, Jesus shows us the true Messiah, and He even quotes a verse from psalm118 v 22...relating to the cornerstone, which represents Jesus... as the builders reject the stone, so do the religious leaders reject Jesus. But we know that Jesus is the foundation of God's Kingdom and the dire warning is God's Kingdom will be taken away and given to those deserving of it. Let us strive to be the receivers of God's Kingdom. Let us pray LORD, as we reflect on the vineyard parable, we can reflect on our own potential of Your Kingdom. Forgive us for not honoring your authority and neglecting the gifts you have given us. Help us to cultivate a heart of humility, teach us to be of service to you and your glory. We pray. Amen. 20.03.25 Today's gospel *Luke 16: 19-31* *Reflection* It is illustrated in the parable the need to help as it should be in our Christian nature and ways. We should not always be contented with being on the righteous corner but we should take part in the actions that can help those who do not have the same blessings as we have. As Christians we are accountable for the least of the society. Our Savior Jesus Christ demonstrated it for us throughout his whole life and in his parables. *Prayer* Heavenly Father, as we reflect on the parable of the rich man and Lazarus, open our eyes to the needs around us and stir our hearts with compassion for those in need. Help us to see beyond our own comfort and to share our blessings, whether material or spiritual, with others, as you have blessed us. May we not be consumed by the pursuit of riches and pleasure, but rather seek to build a life of purpose and meaning, reflecting your love and grace in all that we do. Teach us to be generous, not just with our possessions, but also with our time, talents, and hearts. Grant us the wisdom to discern the true treasures of life and to live in a way that honors your name. In Jesus' name, we pray. *Amen* ReplyForward St Barnabas Anglican church-Bluff.
18.03.2025 Today's Gospel Mathew 23:1‐12 The message of our gospel today teaches us to serve the people with humility and sincerity rather than with pride and self-promotion. Let our words be the living testimonies of Christ and these are humility, poverty, patience and obedience. We speak them when we show them to others. Let us pray Lord Jesus, fill us with your Holy Spirit and transform us into the Christ-like holiness you desire. Teach us to be humble as you are humble and to love others generously with selfless service and kindness. Increase our zeal for your Kingdom and set us free from the authority of selfish pride and self-concern. Instill in us, O God your holy desire to live for your greater glory. Amen. 17.03.25 Today's gospel Luke 6:36-38 We have a text about Jesus' teaching on the importance of showing mercy and forgiveness towards others, rather than judging them. Jesus warns against judging others, lest we be judged ourselves. The measure we use to judge others will be used to judge us. Jesus calls us to be merciful, just as our Father is merciful. Prayer Dear Heavenly Father, help us to show mercy and forgiveness towards others, just as You have shown mercy and forgiveness towards us. Amen. St. Barnabas Anglican Parish, Bluff.
12/03/25 Today's gospel Luke 11 v 29 to 32. This reading tells us to always have trust and faith in God. We need to lose our arrogance and demands. If we repent of our ways, God will always forgive us. Here, Jesus also compared his resurrection with Jonah...3 days and nights in the belly of the fish. We do not need signs in order to believe. We all know the truth, just keep the faith and love for the Trinity alive. Let us pray Father God, we pray for wisdom, patience, kindness, positivity and direction. We ask that you lead us in all that we do, that you give us wisdom to preach your Word, and to let people see Jesus in our actions. We pray in Jesus' name. Amen. |
