Today's gospel Matthew 14:13-21
This text is about the miraculous Provision of God. Jesus withdraws to a solitary place, but the crowds follow. 

Initially, there seem  to have insufficient resources to feed the crowds of 5,000 men, plus women and children. The disciples spotted out a boy with 5 loaves of  bread and 2 fish, that is limited resources.

Jesus takes the loaves and fish, gives thanks, and breaks them. The disciples distribute the food to the crowd and everyone eats and is satisfied. 12 baskets of leftovers were collected after everyone had eaten.

Some Lessons.

We must trust God's abundance of provision. God grants us our daily needs. Our resources are insufficient, but God's power is limitless. God blesses us abundantly.  


Let us pray 

Lord, help us to trust You in times of need.
May we trust Your provision, even when we have no resources  or when our resources seem insufficient.
