Today's gospel Matthew 19:16 - 22

A rich young man asks Jesus about eternal life.

Jesus mentions the 10 Commandments.
The young man thinks he has kept them all, but Jesus reveals that he has missed the most important of the law, which is love.

Jesus tells the young man to sell his possessions and follow Him. The young man is unwilling to pay the cost of being a 
 discipleship of Jesus. 

At times,  our earthly possessions can hinder us from being true followers of Jesus Christ. The young man's wealth is an idol that keeps him from following Jesus. May nothing hinder us from being followers of Christ.

Prayer.

Lord Jesus Christ, as we follow You, help us to surrender any distraction and trusting You completely. May we focus on the reward of eternal life and a deeper relationship with You.
