This reading is all about bureaucracy.
The pharisees functioned in a bureaucratic manner.
They interpretation of the Torah often placed them in direct opposition with Jesus.

Jesus responded to them in a charismatic manner and this is a good leadership example to follow. In essence Jesus is looking towards a future beyond both the Torah and Temple.

Let us pray 

Father God, thank you for the hope, guidance and love that you give us daily. Help us to live with Jesus in our hearts, we pray.
