22.07.24 Today's gospel. John 20:1-18: Feast of St. Mary Magdalene In the text, Mary Magdalene discovered the empty tomb of Jesus Christ. Her assumption was that Jesus' body had been stolen from the tomb. After she told the news to the disciples, Peter and John's raced to the tomb and found the tomb empty. Mary Magdalene had mistakenly identified Jesus as the gardener. May we have faith, and so believe the resurrection of Jesus Christ, and the resurrection of those fallen asleep in Christ. We have to share the Good News of the resurrection with others. The resurrection story is also about the power of love and redemption. Jesus' sacrifice on the cross was not just about paying the penalty for our sins, it was also about showing us the depth of God's love for us. Let us pray Thank You Lord Jesus Christ for love and redemption, for Your sacrifice on our behalf. Amen
