03.06.24 Today's gospel. Mark 12:1 - 12 In Today's gospel reading, Jesus gives us a parable about a landowner who rents out his vineyard to tenants. When he sends servants to collect his share of the harvest, the tenants beat and kill them. Lastly, the landlord sends his beloved son, whom the tenants also kill. Jesus warns that the owner will come and destroy the tenants and give the vineyard to others. The religious leaders understand that Jesus is speaking against them and want to arrest Him, but they are afraid of the crowd. The tenants rejected the son because they wanted power. They wanted their group to be powerful, and so, they themselves would be powerful. This desire for power would lead to murder. A relationship with Jesus means handing over a lot to Him and living in His light. Let us pray Gentle and compassionate Lord, Jesus Christ, we accept and welcome You into our life, take control of our life, and guide our steps. Amen
