Today's Mk 1:1-15. 

The text is about John the Baptist's announcement of the coming of the Messiah and a call to repentance.

Faith is on the other side of repentance. It is turning away from sin and also our righteousness and cling on to Jesus. Faith leads to joy because it is grounded in the amazing and secure work of Jesus.  

Let us pray

Lord Jesus, as You defeated Satan and resisted temptation, give us the power to overcome temptation and to keep away from sin. Allow us to walk in Your path.
