13.05.24 Luke 14:7 - 14 *Seating Arrangements* The story in today's gospel is about the well-to-do, the landowners, and the upper class who have concerns about their social and economic status. Weddings or funerals are times to show off their distinctions and merits. They cannot wait for the hosts to offer them places, instead, they go for places of honor, they push to those places because they like to be seen by all how distinguished they are. Often the most distinguished guests would arrive last for a feast. Those who gave themselves seats risk chances of being embarrassed by being asked to move and leave space for the rightful guests. *Let us pray* Lord Jesus Christ, help us to avoid such behavior. May we not overestimate or exalt ourselves or seek VIP seats/positions, instead may we humble ourselves and we will be exalted at the appointed time. Amen.
