12.05.25 Feast of Simon of Cyrene Today's gospel Mark 15:16 - 21 Jesus' experience in the Praetorium highlights the physical and emotional suffering He endured. This text contrasts Jesus' innocence with the guilt of those who condemned Him to death. Jesus' journey to Golgotha symbolizes His willingness to bear the weight of our sins. His response to suffering and humiliation serves as a model for Christians facing similar challenges. Jesus' journey to the cross reminds us of the cost of being disciples and the importance of self-denial. Here, we see God's love for humanity, as Jesus willingly suffers and dies for our salvation. Let us pray. Heavenly Father, help us to reflect on our own responses to suffering and hardship. We praise you for Jesus' sacrifice and love. May we live out our faith in obedience to Jesus' teachings. May we follow in His steps even if it means carrying our own crosses. Amen.
